Keeping Our Canals Clear: Windstorm Mitigation Project Underway

As part of our ongoing windstorm mitigation efforts, the Coral Springs Improvement District (CSID) has partnered with Arbor Tree and Land (ATL) to safely remove certain trees from our canal rights-of-way in southern Coral Springs.

This project helps prevent trees from falling into the canals, which can block water flow and increase the risk of flooding to nearby homes and infrastructure. In total, about 150 trees have been identified for removal.

You may notice crews working from barges in the canals over the next several weeks. The majority of the work will be performed from the waterway. No tree removal will take place on private property.

Work has already been completed on Culvert E-10, and crews are wrapping up Culvert E-13 this week. Next up are Culverts E-18, E-17, W-4, W-5, E-24, E-5, and finally W-14. Please note that this schedule may change depending on conditions in the field.
