Job Title: Aquatic Weed Technician

Salary Level: $43,922.00 – $62,324.00
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Under regular supervision, removes debris and plant materials from District waterways. Applies herbicides and other chemicals to the district waterways.
Cleans and removes debris, animal carcasses and plant materials from waterways owned and operated by the district as directed by his/her supervisor or work order.
Applies herbicides to the waterways.
Mechanically harvests aquatic plants in the district waterways. Removes plants manually when conditions permit.
Prepares and submits daily and weekly activity reports.
Posts signs to notify public of recent or impending pesticide applications.
Receives, reviews, prepares, and/or submits a variety of documents such as maps, daily schedules, weekly activity reports.
Operates and maintains a variety of equipment such as boats, vehicles, trucks, trailers, spray machinery, hand tools, power tools, mechanical harvester, telephone, two-way radio, etc.
Assists in Various aspects of storm water management program including operation of pump stations.

Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to operate a variety of machines and equipment including vehicles, boats, tractors, trucks, hand, and power tools, etc. Must be able to exert up to forty pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Physical demands are more than those for sedentary work. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of fifty to eighty pounds.
